The Expatriate Women's Association of Surabaya

Who do you turn to when you are uprooted from your home, a familiar community, your family and friends? Whose hand can you hold as you rebuild your life from scratch and start all over again? Where do you even begin to find answers to your questions? Right here at EWAS, the Expatriates Women’s Association of Surabaya!

The EWAS began in 1987, when a group of 27 women found company in their time away from home. Like typical women, they bonded together, snacked, shared notes, shopped, explored, and set out to build a community away from home.

Today, this group has grown to 120, with over 20 nationalities of women who help each other find happiness in an unfamiliar culture, laughter in a multitude of languages, and peace in knowing that there will be answers to one’s questions.

Whether you are planning a future home in Surabaya, the second largest city of Indonesia, or are already part of this community you now call home – this is for you. Though you may not find all the answers to your questions, it is a great beginning.

We are here for you.

Expats for Expats.
