Exhibition of Japanese traditional craft "Oshie"
Place: House of Sampoerna Art Gallery
Time: From April 13 to May 20
Opening ceremony on April 12 from 6:30pm
Artist: Soho Konishi the 4th Headmaster of Oshie Miyabi school

Oshie is a Japanese craft with long history. Colorful Japanese silk cloth for Kimono and Japanese paper called Chiyogami are also one of the Japanese craft. The Oshie craft was born by the economy spirit of the predecessors of using waste pieces from cutting cloth of Kimono. Oshie is made in three dimensions, and these figures have sense of presence.
We are not only making traditional works but also modern ones. We'd like to develop the beauty and pleasure of Oshie and we hope the people around the world to be happy with our works.
Please enjoy the beautiful and tasteful Japanese crafts.
